ANALYST Project Engages at EUROTOX Congress 2024
The ANALYST Project recently participated in the EUROTOX Congress 2024, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from September 8th to 11th. This esteemed event, organised by the Danish Society of Toxicology and Pharmacology, provided a valuable platform for experts and professionals in toxicology to share insights, discuss recent advancements, and explore best practices in the field.
During the congress, the Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU), a key partner of the ANALYST Project, contributed to the event by delivering a Continuing Education Course (CEC) on Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) and presenting a poster that outlined this important framework. AOPs are instrumental in helping researchers understand the connections between molecular-level interactions and potential adverse effects on health and the environment. By detailing the biological sequences that lead to toxicity, AOPs contribute significantly to fostering informed decision-making processes in safety assessments.
The discussions surrounding AOPs at EUROTOX 2024 highlighted their relevance in advancing the understanding of chemical safety and risk assessment. This aligns well with the principles of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) initiative, which emphasises the importance of incorporating safety considerations from the earliest stages of chemical development. By doing so, it is possible to enhance both the effectiveness and safety of new chemicals and products.
The ANALYST Project’s engagement at the EUROTOX Congress provided an opportunity to connect with a diverse community of experts, fostering collaborations that may enhance future research initiatives.
We are committed to advancing research and promoting practices that ensure safer chemical development. The participation in EUROTOX 2024 was a valuable experience that will contribute to the project’s ongoing efforts.
