Partner Spotlight: HOLOSS Driving Collaboration in the ANALYST Project
Innovation in sustainability rarely happens in isolation. It requires collaboration between scientists, industry experts, and policymakers working together toward a shared goal. In the ANALYST project, this collaborative effort is coordinated by HOLOSS, a research organisation committed to advancing sustainable innovation.
As the project coordinator, HOLOSS plays a central role in ensuring that the consortium’s diverse expertise is brought together effectively. By facilitating communication, coordinating activities, and supporting collaboration between partners, HOLOSS helps guide the project toward achieving its ambitious objectives.
Building the Foundations of the Project
One of the first priorities in the ANALYST project is to establish a solid foundation for the work ahead. Through Work Package 1, partners are mapping workflows, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and defining the methodological structure that will support the project’s technical developments. These early activities help ensure that the different project components—ranging from research activities to digital tools—can be developed in a coherent and integrated way.
Developing Data Infrastructure for Sustainability Assessments
Another important activity currently underway is the development of a project database that will centralise information related to materials, processes, and sustainability indicators. This database will support future digital tools designed to facilitate data-driven sustainability assessments, enabling researchers and industry stakeholders to evaluate materials and technologies more efficiently.
A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
At the core of the ANALYST project is the ambition to move beyond fragmented sustainability evaluations. To address this challenge, the consortium is developing the ANALYST-BOX, an integrated methodology that enables the holistic assessment of materials and processes across four key dimensions:
-
Health and safety
-
Environmental impacts
-
Social aspects
-
Economic performance
By integrating these dimensions into a single framework, the methodology aims to support more informed decision-making in the plastics sector and contribute to the implementation of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework promoted by the European Union.
Through its coordination and scientific contributions, HOLOSS plays a key role in ensuring that the ANALYST project delivers innovative solutions that can support the transition toward safer and more sustainable materials.
