The ANALYST consortium gathered in Aveiro, Portugal, for its Month 30 Consortium Meeting, marking an important moment to review the current status of the project, assess progress across all work packages, and align on the next phase of development, validation, and stakeholder engagement.

Attention: Showcasing the ANALYST-DIGI Beta Version

​

The meeting opened with an internal workshop dedicated to the Digital Multi-criteria Decision Support system (DMDMS) and the ANALYST-DIGI Beta Version, one of the key innovations developed within the ANALYST project.

​

Presented by IDENER and PIEP, the workshop introduced the beta version of ANALYST-DIGI and demonstrated how the digital tool can support material evaluation and decision-making in the plastics value chain. The tool is designed to help users assess materials and alternatives across different Safe and Sustainable by Design dimensions, including toxicity, exposure, environmental impact, economic performance, and social aspects.

The ANALYST-DIGI tool builds on the methodology developed through ANALYST-BOX, which provides the integrated assessment framework for evaluating safety, sustainability, and performance across the life cycle.

The workshop provided consortium partners with a first practical demonstration of how the ANALYST-DIGI platform works. Through a use case demonstration, partners were guided through the digital tool interface and shown how the platform can support the assessment and comparison of materials and alternatives. This session was not only focused on showcasing the tool, but also on helping internal stakeholders understand how it can be used in practice. It allowed partners to explore how the methodology developed within ANALYST-BOX is translated into a digital decision-support environment. The workshop also created an important opportunity to collect feedback from industrial and technical partners before the tool is released externally.

 

This feedback will help improve the platform’s usability, clarity, and accessibility, especially for industrial users who may not have a technical background.

Desire: Preparing ANALYST Results for Real-World Uptake

​

Following the workshop, the meeting continued with presentations on the latest developments across each work package. Partners reviewed the status of ongoing deliverables, discussed progress against project objectives, and identified the next actions needed to ensure that project activities remain on track.

​

Technical discussions also focused on ensuring that the project’s developments and innovations are being built correctly, delivered on time, and aligned with the requirements set out in the Grant Agreement. Particular attention was given to ensuring that ANALYST outputs remain relevant for industry while also reflecting the regulatory context and requirements linked to the European plastics sector.

The M30 meeting represented a key step in moving the project from development towards validation, training, and adoption. With ANALYST-BOX providing the methodology, ANALYST-DIGI translating this methodology into a digital tool, and ANALYST-T-PACK supporting validation through industrial use cases, the project is progressing towards practical tools and results that can support safer, more sustainable, and more transparent decision-making.

Action: Upcoming Workshops and Stakeholder Board Engagement

​

In the next phase, ANALYST will organise external workshops, seminars, and training activities to support the uptake of project results by industry and stakeholders.

These activities will include workshops on:

• Life Cycle Assessment and Safe and Sustainable by Design evaluation

• How to use the ANALYST-DIGI tool in practice

• Policy and regulatory topics relevant to the plastics sector

• Compliance-oriented discussions linked to relevant EU requirements and European Commission priorities

 

Companies and organisations that join the ANALYST Stakeholder Board will be able to receive the latest updates on the project, provide feedback on the tools, contribute to future workshops, and access the tools as soon as they become available.
