D3.3: Turning Holistic SSbD Assessment into Digital Decision Support

Jul 14, 2026

ANALYST Deliverable 3.3 presents the project’s Digital Multicriteria Decision-Making Support tool, designed to compare material alternatives across safety, environmental, social and economic dimensions while keeping results transparent, traceable and ready for integration into ANALYST-DIGI.

The ANALYST project has completed Deliverable 3.3 – “DMDMS ready to be integrated in the ANALYST OA platform”, marking an important step in the development of ANALYST-DIGI.

The deliverable presents the final development status and implementation logic of the project’s Digital Multicriteria Decision-Making Support tool (DMDMS). The tool translates the ANALYST integrated assessment methodology into a practical digital workflow for comparing substitution and product-development alternatives across four dimensions: safety, environmental, social and economic performance.

The DMDMS applies a harmonised scoring approach and an Analytic Hierarchy Process-based weighting method to combine evidence from the four dimensions. Importantly, the results remain traceable: users can move from an overall ranking back to the indicators, scores and assumptions that shaped it.

The deliverable also addresses real-world decision-making challenges, including missing data, uncertainty and safety-related constraints. Sensitivity analyses are used to test how changes in weights, scores and scenarios may affect the ranking of alternatives, helping users understand how robust the results are.

Finally, D3.3 defines how the tool will be integrated into the wider ANALYST Open Access platform through an API-based connection with data, ontology and platform services. This prepares the DMDMS for the next phase of integration, testing and deployment through a stakeholder-facing interface.

Through this work, ANALYST moves closer to transforming holistic Safe and Sustainable by Design assessment into transparent and practical digital decision support for the plastics value chain.

Read the deliverable to discover how ANALYST is turning complex sustainability trade-offs into explainable and actionable decisions.
