New Deliverable Published: Understanding the Interaction Between Health, Environmental, Economic and Social Factors
The ANALYST project has published Deliverable 2.3: “Interaction of the Health, Environment, Economic and Social Factors”, developed within Work Package 2 – Development of ANALYST-BOX.
This report represents an important step in strengthening the integrated assessment approach that underpins the ANALYST project. By analysing how health, environmental, economic, and social dimensions interact across the plastics value chain, the study contributes to building a more holistic methodology for Safe and Sustainable-by-Design (SSbD) innovation.
What the report explores
The deliverable examines how sustainability impacts are interconnected and how these dimensions influence each other throughout the lifecycle of materials and products. Rather than evaluating these aspects in isolation, the report highlights the importance of integrated impact assessment to support more informed decision-making in sustainable materials development.
Key aspects addressed in the report include:
The relationships between human health, environmental performance, economic viability, and social impacts
Methodological approaches for integrating these dimensions within sustainability assessments
The role of such interactions in supporting holistic SSbD evaluation frameworks
How this knowledge contributes to the development of the ANALYST-BOX assessment methodology
Contribution to the ANALYST project
Deliverable 2.3 supports the broader objective of the ANALYST project: developing tools and methodologies that enable comprehensive sustainability assessments across the plastics value chain. By mapping how different sustainability dimensions interact, the report helps ensure that future assessments consider the full complexity of real-world systems, supporting better decisions for industry, policymakers, and researchers.
